A law firm located in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of successfully executing legal strategy, including taking depositions, motion practice, trial, arbitration, hearings, and other key litigation events. Previous experience advocating for clients in a law firm setting is required. Some experience with real estate or commercial construction litigation (excluding defect) is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Execute legal strategy in commercial litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Represent clients in trials, arbitrations, hearings, and other litigation events.
  • Produce witnesses for depositions and trial testimony.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and legal analysis.
  • Interface directly with attorneys and clients to provide updates and discuss case strategy.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Assist with case management, including document review and discovery.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Admission to the California state bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial litigation, preferably with law firm experience.
  • Previous experience advocating for clients in litigation matters.
  • Ability to work independently and productively.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organization skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the California state bar.
