Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Trial Attorney on behalf of a distinguished law firm in New Orleans, LA. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience, with multiple first-chair jury trials under their belt, preferably in personal injury cases. The role offers significant compensation and benefits, with the opportunity to mentor junior attorneys and work on high-value cases. Duties:

  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial preparations, trials, motions, and appeals.
  • Serve as lead counsel in jury trials, particularly in personal injury cases.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys on litigation strategies and conflict resolution.
  • Participate in ongoing legal education and contribute to the development of the legal team.
  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff to ensure 5-star client care.
  • Manage a high-value caseload, ensuring effective and timely resolution.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation and trial experience, with multiple first-chair jury trials.
  • Experience in personal injury litigation preferred; criminal jury trial experience may be considered.
  • Strong decision-making skills and public speaking experience.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills, reviewing reports, and managing case budgets.
  • Experience in trial, mediation, and arbitration representation.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a heavy caseload.
  • Strong relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Louisiana State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys.
  • Process improvement mindset with a focus on achieving positive client outcomes.
  • High proficiency in legal research, trial preparation, and litigation strategies.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: Guaranteed minimum annual compensation of $195,000, with significant bonuses based on case outcomes.
