Job Overview

A law firm seeks a driven Junior Associate Civil Litigation Attorney in San Diego, CA. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a Managing Civil Litigation Attorney, gaining hands-on experience in business litigation and transactions. Probate experience is a plus but not required. The candidate should be eager to learn and grow into a second-chair role, with aspirations of becoming an exceptional trial attorney.

Duties

  • Engage in direct client communications and case management.
  • Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and prepare briefs.
  • Draft pleadings, manage discovery, and engage in motion practice.
  • Participate in mediation, settlement negotiations, and depositions.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, bench trials, and jury trials.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of litigation experience; recent graduates with clerkship or internship experience encouraged to apply.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Familiarity with business disputes, corporate formalities, and general civil litigation.
  • Probate law experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
