A well-established national plaintiffs' litigation firm is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate to join its team in Emeryville, California. This role focuses on representing individuals and families affected by corporate wrongdoing, with an emphasis on asbestos, personal injury, and product liability matters. The position involves fast-paced, high-impact work and offers the opportunity to quickly take on significant case responsibilities, including trial support.

Location

Duties

  • Manage personal injury and product liability cases, with a focus on asbestos litigation

  • Conduct written discovery and manage related case documents

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Draft and argue motions in court

  • Assist in trial preparation and serve as second chair in trials

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing compassionate and responsive representation

  • Travel frequently for client meetings and legal proceedings

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in plaintiff-side litigation preferred

  • Background in asbestos, personal injury, medical malpractice, or product liability cases is ideal

  • Strong ability to work under deadlines in a high-volume, emotionally charged practice area

  • Commitment to advocating for injured individuals and their families

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active admission to a state bar (California preferred)

Skills

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a litigation team
