A law firm in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Worker's Compensation Associate Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for handling depositions, mediations, conferences between claimants and judges, court appearances, legal research, drafting legal documents, and maintaining regular client interaction. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, along with a working knowledge of administrative laws and procedures. A law degree from an ABA accredited law school and an active license in Missouri are required. Defense experience is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Handling depositions, mediations, conferences between claimants and judges, and court appearances.
  • Communicating and working together as a team.
  • Performing legal research and staying current with developments in the law.
  • Drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Daily client interaction and case management.
  • Applying working knowledge of administrative laws and procedures.
  • Demonstrating strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

 

Requirements:

  • A law degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Missouri.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and people skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • 0-5 years of legal experience (Defense experience preferred).

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures (preferred).
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
