Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Trial Attorney in Gulfport, Mississippi. The role involves managing a high-volume caseload, engaging with clients, and advocating in trials. The attorney will be responsible for conducting key litigation activities and serving as lead counsel in jury trials.

Duties

  • Manage approximately 150 cases, with around 50 in active litigation monthly.
  • Maintain proactive and transparent communication with clients.
  • Conduct depositions, draft and respond to motions, and lead mediations.
  • Serve as lead counsel in jury trials to secure favorable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years practicing personal injury or civil litigation; 5-8 years preferred.
  • Active and in good standing with the local State Bar; multiple state bar admissions preferred.
  • Extensive jury trial experience with at least 5+ first chair trial verdicts; 10+ preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate case strategies effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Mississippi.

Skills

  • Strong legal acumen and understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Proficient in client engagement and advocacy.
