Business Litigation and Transaction Lawyer

Job Overview:
A dynamic law firm is seeking a full-time Business Litigation & Transactions Attorney to join its team in Austin, TX. This role involves a balance of transactional work, pre-litigation conflict resolution, and active litigation—primarily on behalf of small business clients. Location:

• Austin, TX

Duties:

• Draft and review business contracts, including LLC operating agreements, employment contracts, and customer/vendor agreements

• Advise clients on pre-litigation matters including partnership disputes, breach of contract concerns, and commercial collections

• Represent clients in litigation, including business disputes and breach of contract cases

• Build long-term relationships with small business clients, transitioning to an outside general counsel role where appropriate

• Maintain open and proactive client communication in accordance with internal routines

• Contribute to a collaborative team environment, supporting both attorneys and staff

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in business law, with a strong focus on litigation and transactional matters

• Familiarity with small business operations and legal needs

• Strong client communication and relationship-building skills

• Commitment to high-quality legal work and timely deliverables

• Ability to manage a balanced caseload across different practice areas

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas

• In good standing with the Texas State Bar

Skills:

• Contract drafting and negotiation

• Business litigation strategy and courtroom experience

• Ability to advise clients on corporate structure and operations
