Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group in Chattanooga. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, relevant industry experience, and excellent writing and communication skills.

Duties

  • Prepare and prosecute patents in electrical engineering and software-related technologies.
  • Engage in patent prosecution involving machine learning, artificial intelligence, and neural networks.
  • Handle matters related to radio frequency circuitry.
  • Address hardware and communications security, including encryption and decryption.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Active bar admission in the jurisdiction of practice.
  • Admission to the USPTO.

Education

  • Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or physics.

Certifications

  • J.D. degree.

Skills

  • Strong writing and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in patent prosecution for electrical and software technologies.
