Job Overview

A respected and fast-growing Florida-based law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney to join its Fort Lauderdale office. This role is ideal for recent law graduates or early-career attorneys (0–2 years of experience) interested in plaintiff-side workers' compensation law. The position involves hands-on litigation work, including depositions, mediations, and hearings. Spanish fluency is required.

Location

  • Fort Lauderdale, FL

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation claims from inception to resolution

  • Conduct and defend depositions (clients, providers, experts)

  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlements

  • Represent clients at mediations, hearings, and proceedings before the Judge of Compensation Claims

  • Maintain detailed case documentation and update internal systems

  • Communicate regularly with clients and collaborate with internal legal staff

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in workers’ compensation or litigation

  • Must be fluent in Spanish (verbal and written)

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida and in good standing

  • Experience taking or defending depositions

  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills

  • Excellent organizational and client communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Florida Bar license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical or internship experience in workers’ compensation or personal injury law

  • Familiarity with Florida Workers’ Compensation statutes and procedures

  • Trial or hearing experience
