Associate: Project Finance

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a midlevel associate with project finance experience to join its Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance practice in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and a keen interest in renewable and alternative energy project financings.

Duties

• Manage deal teams and processes across practice areas and geographic locations.
• Conduct research and draft memoranda based on client needs.
• Manage and conduct due diligence.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and opposing counsel.
• Exercise good judgment in written and verbal communications.
• Assist senior lawyers with day-to-day legal services for international and domestic clients.
• Counsel clients on various financing transactions, including asset-based and leveraged finance.
• Advise on the financing and restructuring of renewable energy facilities.
• Mentor junior team members and participate in continuing education and client development initiatives.

Requirements

• At least four years of project finance experience, focusing on renewable energy investment.
• Licensed, or eligible to become licensed, to practice law in New York.
• Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity.

• Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school.
