CEQA Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in Riverside, CA, is seeking an experienced CEQA Associate Attorney to join its Environmental & Natural Resources Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex environmental matters, both transactional and litigation-based, representing clients such as public agencies, businesses, and individuals. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-5 years of experience and be ready to contribute to a dynamic team in a collaborative, inclusive, and client-focused work environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal expertise on the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for both transactional and litigation matters.
  • Represent clients in land use and environmental matters, ensuring compliance with CEQA regulations.
  • Draft and review environmental impact reports, environmental assessments, and other regulatory documents.
  • Advise clients on legal and procedural aspects related to CEQA compliance and environmental law.
  • Participate in court proceedings and client meetings, traveling as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to deliver effective legal solutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of post-law school experience in CEQA law, with both transactional and litigation experience.
  • Strong land use experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues with professionalism and creativity.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Expertise in CEQA regulations and environmental law.
  • Land use law experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
