Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Energy Associate Attorney in California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utilities, regulatory, infrastructure, and environmental law, with a focus on energy matters. This role involves advising on business, regulatory, and transactional issues related to energy, climate change, and environmental compliance.

Duties

  • Advise clients on California Public Utilities Commission regulatory compliance and proceedings.
  • Draft and review energy agreements.
  • Support renewable energy project development, including solar, wind, and battery storage facilities.
  • Handle regulatory filings and represent clients before the CPUC and California Energy Commission.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy, utilities, regulatory, and environmental law.
  • Experience advising on business, regulatory, and transactional matters related to energy and environmental issues.
  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • Experience working with public agencies is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar membership.
