Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney specializing in Family Law to join their team in Charleston, SC. Duties

• Manage family law matters from intake through resolution, including discovery, mediation, and trial.
• Conduct client consultations and provide clear, strategic legal advice.
• Represent clients in South Carolina Family Court with professionalism and confidence.
• Mentor and supervise associates and paralegals; ensure timely, high-quality work.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and monthly leadership sessions.
• Monitor case progress, client satisfaction, and billing efficiency.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on training, performance, and process improvement.
• Support marketing and community outreach through speaking and networking opportunities.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in South Carolina (in good standing).
• Minimum 5-7 years of family law experience, including courtroom litigation.
• Strong knowledge of South Carolina Family Court procedures.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in South Carolina.

Skills

• Experience with high-asset or contested custody cases preferred.
• Familiarity with Smokeball, Clio, or other case management software preferred.
• Prior experience mentoring or supervising team members preferred.
