Business Litigation Counsel

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Counsel for its Denver office. This role is tailored for a litigation professional with at least five years of experience defending first-party commercial and residential property claims, insurance coverage disputes, and insurance class actions. The position offers the opportunity to lead significant litigation matters while collaborating with seasoned partners and, where appropriate, supervising junior associates.

Location:

• Denver, Colorado

Duties:

• Take lead on court appearances, depositions, expert coordination, mediations, and other litigation tasks

• Collaborate closely with partners on related cases while managing independent responsibilities

• Supervise and utilize junior associates for case tasks such as legal research

• Handle multiple active cases concurrently with efficiency and attention to detail

• Deliver high-quality written work product and oral advocacy on behalf of clients

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of litigation experience, specifically in:

  • Defense of first-party commercial and residential property claims

  • Insurance coverage litigation

  • Insurance-related class actions

• Demonstrated ability to lead litigation matters independently

• Must be admitted to practice in Colorado or eligible for admission

• Commitment to high professional standards and client service

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Colorado (or eligibility for admission)

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral communication skills

• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with precision

• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Comfortable working both independently and in team-oriented settings

• Experience working with expert witnesses and conducting depositions
