A law firm is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join their team in Manassas, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law and a passion for advocating for clients' rights.

Job Overview:

The Immigration Attorney will provide legal representation to clients in various immigration matters, including but not limited to Family Petitions, Asylum, Individual Hearings, SIJIS, U-Visas, and Waivers. They will manage a caseload, supervise staff, conduct legal research, prepare court documents, and represent clients in court hearings and trials. Fluency in Spanish is required for effective communication with clients.

Duties:

  • Meet with potential new clients to assess their immigration needs
  • Coordinate case and legal strategy with team members
  • Manage multiple instances, paralegals, projects, and deadlines efficiently
  • Train and supervise staff to ensure high-quality representation
  • Prepare and revise court documents, motions, briefs, and memoranda
  • Conduct legal research to support case arguments
  • Stay updated on legislative changes and judicial case law in the immigration field
  • Market the law firm's immigration services to attract new clients
  • Work one Saturday a month with the potential for bonuses for new clients signed during those days
  • Cross-sell various other practices within the law firm to clients as appropriate
  • Handle court hearings and trials effectively, advocating for clients' interests

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School required
  • Active Bar License in Good Standing from any US State or PR required
  • Fluent in Spanish is required for effective communication with clients
  • 1+ year of Immigration experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Education & Certifications:

  • J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures
  • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client interaction
  • Fluency in Spanish for effective communication with clients
