Business Attorney

A law firm in Sioux City, IA, is seeking a Business Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with clients and their advisors to develop strategies to achieve specific business goals. Responsibilities include drafting contracts, providing legal counsel on corporate governance, conducting legal research, representing clients in negotiations, and engaging in business development activities.

Duties:

• Collaborate with clients and their advisors to develop strategies to meet specific business goals.
• Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents essential to business transactions.
• Provide legal counsel on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support business initiatives and mitigate risks.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Engage in business development activities, including networking and professional organization involvement.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Successful passing of the Bar exam.
• Active member in good standing of the Bar or currently eligible to become licensed to practice law in Iowa.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in business law, including corporate transactions and commercial litigation.
• Preferably 7+ years of specific experience in business law.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent academic and professional credentials are desired.
