A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Banking and Finance Associate Attorney with 5+ years of banking-related, M&A, payments/fintech, and/or financial services regulatory legal experience. The ideal candidate must have excellent writing, oral advocacy skills, and strong academic credentials. An active law license in the applicable jurisdiction or eligibility to become admitted to the applicable Bar is required.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and support to clients in banking and finance matters
  • Draft and negotiate agreements, contracts, and other legal documents related to banking transactions
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on banking laws and regulations
  • Assist with due diligence for mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector
  • Advise clients on payments/fintech regulations and compliance issues
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings
  • Stay updated on developments in banking and finance laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff on complex banking matters
  • Communicate effectively with clients and provide timely updates on legal matters

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of banking-related, M&A, payments/fintech, and/or financial services regulatory legal experience
  • Active law license in the applicable jurisdiction, or eligibility to become admitted to the applicable Bar
  • Excellent writing, oral advocacy skills, and strong academic credentials
  • Knowledge of banking laws and regulations
  • Experience with drafting and negotiating legal documents
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to providing high-quality legal services to clients

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active law license in the applicable jurisdiction or eligibility to become admitted to the applicable Bar
