Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney for a full-time, hybrid position in Pittsburgh, PA. The attorney will represent parents and students in matters involving the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Duties

• Independently manage all aspects of a busy caseload.
• Interview clients and draft memoranda and briefs.
• Advocate in IEP meetings and file complaints.
• Litigate due process claims before the Office for Dispute Resolution.

Requirements

• Admitted to the Pennsylvania bar or eligible for reciprocal admission.
• Background in disability rights advocacy, civil rights litigation, or children's rights preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Pennsylvania Bar Admission.

Skills

• Strong advocacy and litigation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently.
