A law firm in Riverside, CA, is seeking an experienced Environmental Litigation Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of dedicated practice in handling environmental matters, including water rights, water availability, water quality, and various federal and state environmental laws. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in environmental litigation, have the ability to draft pleadings and motions, manage document discovery, take and defend depositions, and argue motions. Experience representing public agencies is a plus.

Duties:

  • Handle environmental litigation cases, including but not limited to water rights, water quality, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, land use, and toxics litigation, including CERCLA and RCRA cases.
  • Assist clients in matters involving state and federal environmental laws, hazardous and solid waste regulations, water, air, and endangered species laws, and permitting.
  • Draft pleadings and motions related to environmental litigation cases.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests.
  • Manage document discovery processes and document production.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental litigation.
  • Experience representing public agencies in environmental matters is a plus.
  • Admitted to practice in California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admittance to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of environmental laws, including federal and state regulations.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Experience with document management and discovery processes.
