Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Immigration Attorney in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will be a motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and client-centered environment, contributing to the firm's growing immigration department.

Duties

  • Provide legal advice and representation in immigration matters before EOIR and the BIA.
  • Prepare and file motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
  • Represent clients at hearings and assist in preparing client testimony.
  • Research complex immigration issues and develop case strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Prepare and submit affirmative applications before USCIS.
  • Collect, review, and organize evidence in support of various applications for relief.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Licensed attorney in good standing in any U.S. state.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and online legal research platforms.
  • Exceptional communication, research, and writing skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state.

Skills

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (read/write/speak) preferred.
  • Experience in removal defense preferred.
