General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm specializing in general liability seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join their team in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have 1-7 years of experience in general liability, including auto and professional lines such as medical malpractice and assisted living/long-term care.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough medical records analysis to support case preparation.
• Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trial memoranda, and appellate briefs.
• Handle drafting of discovery requests and responses.
• Draft and respond to discovery-related motions.
• Regularly attend court appearances, including hearings and trials.
• Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
• Prepare motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Florida.
• 1-7 years of relevant legal experience in general liability and related areas.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent research abilities, with proficiency in legal databases.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
• Familiarity with drafting and arguing motions, including motions for summary judgment.
• Experience in conducting depositions of witnesses.
• Detail-oriented approach to case management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.
