Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Family Law Attorney in Syracuse, NY. This role involves leading complex family law cases, mentoring junior attorneys, and contributing to client strategy. The position offers a Partner-track opportunity for experienced litigators or family law practitioners.

Duties

  • Manage a high-value caseload of 40-50 active family law matters.
  • Serve as lead counsel in negotiations, hearings, and trials across New York State.
  • Develop and execute case strategies with a team of attorneys and paralegals.
  • Mentor and coach junior attorneys and law clerks.
  • Draft, review, and finalize legal documents and agreements.
  • Maintain exceptional client communication.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in New York State or eligible for reciprocity.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in family or matrimonial law.
  • Strong courtroom and litigation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, high-conflict cases professionally.
  • Proven mentoring and training skills for junior attorneys.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice in New York State
