Livonia office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an associate attorney preferably with 3-5 years of prior mechanical engineering experience in patent prosecution. The candidate will be responsible for client disclosure review and technical assessments, preparing patent disclosures from client instructions, and reviewing office action communications, and making response recommendations. Will also be responsible for preparing trademark applications, evaluation of specimen of use, and preparing and filing Office Action responses. Should have a B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or mechanical engineering. Experience as a patent examiner or patent agent is a plus. Applicable industry engineering experience is considered beneficial. USPTO Patent Bar registration (or Bar passage indication) is required. State Bar passage is needed.

The candidate must have a J.D. degree with a strong academic background. Thoughtful understanding and listening skills are required. Candidates with additional experience and books of business are welcomed. Working familiarity with US Patent Office rules of practice is essential.
