Duties

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to life sciences

  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses

  • Provide strategic counsel on intellectual property matters

  • Conduct legal research related to intellectual property law

  • Assist in due diligence and patent portfolio management

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in life sciences patent preparation and prosecution

  • Strong academic and work credentials

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Advanced degree in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemical engineering, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred)

  • For Associate candidates: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Membership in the Bar in the United States

  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred
