Job Overview:

An established multi-state law firm specializing in real estate and creditors' rights is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to support its Illinois practice. This role offers the opportunity to handle a significant caseload, including matters related to foreclosure, bankruptcy, and consumer collections. Location:

  • Atlanta, GA

Duties:

  • Manage a large caseload related to creditors' rights, including foreclosure and bankruptcy cases
  • Handle discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution
  • Represent clients in court and participate in appellate cases
  • Assist in growing the firm's presence and reputation in the industry
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and industry professionals
  • Provide excellent client support and exercise sound legal judgment
  • Some travel may be required for court appearances and meetings

Requirements:

  • Must be a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar
  • 5+ years of litigation experience preferred; newly licensed attorneys will also be considered
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases within creditors' rights law
  • Familiarity with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred
  • Appellate experience is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on collaboration and mentoring
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive approach to legal challenges and problem-solving
  • Familiarity with Illinois legal system and commitment to superior client support
  • Willingness to travel for court appearances and client meetings

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar is required
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus
