Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled attorney with substantial experience in immigration law, family law, and civil litigation in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise and a strategic approach to managing a diverse caseload with precision and professionalism.

Duties

  • Draft and file briefs before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals.
  • Represent clients at Asylum Officer Interviews, Adjustment of Status Interviews, and Naturalization Interviews.
  • Prepare and argue motions before the Board of Immigration Appeals and appear at various Immigration Court hearings.
  • Draft and prepare family-based petitions, asylum applications, and naturalization applications.
  • Assemble evidentiary submissions for deportation/removal proceedings.
  • Work closely with clients, focusing on the Chinese-American immigrant community.
  • Handle contested and uncontested divorce proceedings.
  • Represent clients in civil litigation, including business disputes and landlord-tenant matters.

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney with a J.D. or LL.M.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage complex, high-volume matters.

Education

  • J.D. or LL.M.
