Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Associate Attorney for their Supreme Court & Appellate practice. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research, writing, and interpersonal skills, as well as a background in appellate work or judicial clerkship. Location:

Duties:

  • Work on high-profile appeals, including U.S. Supreme Court cases and federal court of appeals.
  • Contribute to “appellate eyes at trial” practice, providing expertise on key motions and issue preservation at the trial court level.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis of complex issues.
  • Draft persuasive legal documents, including briefs and motions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members on appellate cases.
  • Present legal arguments in oral communications and client meetings.
  • Assist with case strategy, preparation, and execution in appellate litigation.

Requirements:

  • Must possess excellent legal research, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience as a judicial clerk, preferably for a federal or state appellate court.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong academic background with excellent academic credentials.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to present legal arguments clearly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Admission to the relevant state bar is required.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Experience in appellate litigation, ideally with some clerkship experience.
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
