Job Overview: A well-established law firm located in Edmond, OK, is seeking a skilled and passionate Criminal Defense Attorney to join its dynamic team through a recruiting partnership. This position offers the opportunity to take first-chair responsibility, make meaningful contributions in the courtroom, and work collaboratively with a supportive legal team. Duties:
Represent clients in criminal law matters from initial consultation through case resolution.
Prepare and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.
Conduct client consultations and advise on available options and strategies.
Manage a docket of clients, ensuring deadlines and court appearances are efficiently handled.
Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to oversee case preparation and client billing processes.
Analyze client situations, identify legal solutions, and develop case strategies.
Attend court proceedings regularly and advocate zealously on behalf of clients.
Lead client meetings, potential client consultations, and internal team discussions weekly.
Foster a supportive environment for junior staff and assist in the growth and development of the team.
Engage in problem-solving and creative case development to achieve client goals.
Requirements:
Strong decision-making, public speaking, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while handling multiple cases.
High level of organization and initiative to complete tasks without supervision.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association (or eligibility for immediate admission).
