Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced attorney for its Charlotte, NC office to focus on title and survey review and real estate due diligence for various transactions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a large law firm or title company environment.

Duties

  • Manage and coordinate title and survey review for real estate transactions.
  • Review and summarize exceptions in title commitments.
  • Identify and analyze title issues, finalizing proformas and endorsements.
  • Assist with flood due diligence coordination.
  • Collaborate with deal attorneys to develop solutions for title issues.
  • Work with title companies, borrower's counsel, and third parties to complete diligence.
  • Review commercial leases and prepare lease abstracts.
  • Analyze zoning reports and negotiate acceptable versions for closing.
  • Review commercial property purchase and sale agreements.
  • Negotiate due diligence items with counterparties.
  • Supervise and review the work of junior attorneys.
  • Manage timely completion of due diligence deliverables.

Requirements

  • At least six years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a large law firm or title company preferred.
  • Hands-on and highly organized.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the state of North Carolina.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing complex transactions.
