A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join its team specializing in family law, probate, estate litigation, and commercial litigation. This full-time position is ideal for an attorney with a strong litigation background, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent legal services. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred for this role.

Duties

  • Represent clients in various litigation matters, including family law, probate, estate, and commercial disputes.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and court submissions.
  • Appear in court on behalf of clients for hearings, motions, and trials.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Manage case files and ensure compliance with deadlines and court requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts to facilitate case progress.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients in the areas of family law, estate planning, and probate.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and assist in developing case resolutions.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of law office litigation experience, specifically in motion practice.
  • 1+ year of legal experience in family law, estate planning, or probate litigation is a plus.
  • Strong legal writing and drafting skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to appear in court and handle client matters in person.
  • Must possess unquestionable integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in New York State (required).
  • Federal and/or NJ/FL admission is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong litigation, research, and drafting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Client-focused and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish (highly preferred).
