Job Overview: A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a skilled Patent Lawyer with 2 years of patent prosecution experience. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in patent prosecution involving various technologies such as 5G, Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence (AI), processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front end. Strong academic credentials, analytical capabilities, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential. An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification is preferred. Additionally, the candidate must be registered with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or eligible for registration and must be admitted to and in good standing with the Bar or eligible for waiver.

Duties:

  • Conducted patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice on intellectual property matters, specifically patents.
  • Conduct patentability and prior art searches to assess the novelty of inventions.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand the technical aspects of inventions.
  • Manage patent portfolios and guide patent strategy.
  • Analyze patent infringement issues and support litigation efforts as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Experience in patent prosecution related to 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
  • Excellent academic credentials with a focus on law and/or electrical engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Registered with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or eligible for registration.
  • Admitted to and in good standing with the Bar or eligible for waiver.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (preferred).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar.

  • Proficiency in patent prosecution procedures and practices.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical concepts and legal issues.
  • Strong research skills for conducting patent searches and analyzing prior art.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with inventors, clients, and legal team members.
