Subrogation & Recovery - Department Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected national law firm is seeking a Department Attorney to join its Subrogation & Recovery team in Miami. This unique opportunity allows attorneys to work on complex property damage and subrogation matters without the pressure of traditional billable hour requirements. The position focuses on evaluating large property loss claims to determine legal viability and potential recovery from third parties. It involves detailed investigations, coordination with experts, and strategic legal analysis.

Location:

• Miami, Florida

Duties:

• Evaluate large property loss claims to assess potential for subrogation and recovery

• Coordinate investigations and work with forensic experts to determine causes and liabilities

• Analyze evidence and legal theories to determine pursuit viability

• Draft client communications and internal evaluations

• Support litigation teams in the development of recovery strategy

• Assist in identifying claims with strong factual and legal foundations

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in property insurance claims, subrogation, construction litigation, or commercial litigation

• Experience managing investigations and collaborating with experts

• Strong understanding of tort and contract liability principles

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Florida

• Good standing with the Florida Bar

Skills:

• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to evaluate claims quickly and thoroughly
