A law firm located in Woodbury is seeking a highly qualified Patent Attorney with expertise in Computer Science. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, coupled with experience in various aspects of computer science, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, operating systems, databases, data structures, computer networking, virtualization, file systems, digital design, and computer architecture.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent searches and analyze prior art.
  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications related to computer science innovations.
  • Provide legal advice and opinions on patentability and infringement.
  • Collaborate with inventors and technical experts to understand complex technologies.
  • Conduct intellectual property due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.

 

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law and registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

 

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in computer science.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence, machine learning, operating systems, databases, data structures, computer networking, virtualization, file systems, digital design, and computer architecture.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and interface effectively with inventors and technical experts.
