Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney II for its Rochester, NY location. This role involves leading complex commercial and civil litigation cases and mentoring junior attorneys. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of the litigation practice through strategic client engagement and leadership.

Duties

• Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation.
• Draft motions and manage discovery processes.
• Serve as lead counsel for commercial and institutional banking clients.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic counsel.
• Manage complex caseloads independently.
• Lead discovery efforts and coordinate trial preparation.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff.
• Engage in business development and client relationship management.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of litigation experience with independent case management skills.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York State.
• Strong command of litigation strategy and courtroom procedure.
• Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills.
• Experience in appellate, creditors' rights, family law, or labor & employment law is a plus.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
