Job Overview

A reputable law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of civil litigation experience to join its expanding team. This remote-based role is ideal for attorneys located in West Tennessee and offers the opportunity to represent clients at trials, mediations, and other court proceedings, particularly in the areas of creditors’ rights and collections.

Location

  • Brentwood, TN

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of civil litigation files from intake to resolution

  • Represent clients at pre-trials, trials, mediations, and other court appearances

  • Develop case strategy and determine the most efficient next steps

  • Draft persuasive legal communications and documents

  • Conduct legal research and factual investigation

  • Collaborate with internal legal staff and client stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with court procedures and timelines

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in civil litigation

  • 1–2 years of experience in creditors’ rights or collection law preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment

  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or in a team

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Tennessee (Required)

  • Licensure in Mississippi and/or Arkansas is a plus

Skills

  • Legal research and investigative capabilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Experience in subrogation or insurance law is a plus

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities
