Junior to Mid-Level Professional Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a Junior to Mid-Level Professional Liability Associate Attorney to join its Chicago, IL office. The ideal candidate will possess legal malpractice and/or attorney discipline experience, along with strong research, writing, and analytical skills. Illinois Bar admission is required for this role.

Duties:

• Handle professional liability matters, including legal malpractice and attorney discipline cases.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Assist with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in professional liability law.
• Strong understanding of legal principles and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Illinois Bar.
