A law firm in Houston is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of commercial litigation experience. The ideal candidate must have experience with all aspects of commercial litigation, including drafting and responding to complaints, discovery, motion practice, trials and appeals, and possess strong research and writing skills. Stellar academic credentials and comparable law firm experience are required for this position.

 

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Draft and respond to complaints, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Prepare for and participate in trials, hearings, and appeals.
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on case strategy and execution.
  • Attend depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the State Bar of Texas.
  • 4-6 years of commercial litigation experience.
  • Experience with drafting complaints, discovery, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Stellar academic credentials.
  • Comparable law firm experience.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active admission to the State Bar of Texas.

  • Experience with all aspects of commercial litigation.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
