Duties

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation defense matters

  • Attend hearings before the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission

  • Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements

  • Analyze case facts and medical records to evaluate exposure and develop strategy

  • Conduct legal research and provide case updates to clients

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and adjusters regarding case status

  • Participate in discovery, depositions, and negotiations

Requirements

  • 0–5 years of experience in workers’ compensation defense (preferred, not required)

  • Familiarity with South Carolina state courts and commission hearings

  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in South Carolina (required)
