A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Worker's Compensation Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will manage cases from inception through trial preparation, including drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, negotiating contracts, and litigating cases before the workers' compensation division. They must possess extensive knowledge of State and Federal rules and regulations, along with excellent multitasking abilities.

 

Duties:

  • Manage cases from inception through discovery and trial preparation
  • Take depositions of claimants, witnesses, physicians, and other parties
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, appeals, contracts, and other legal documents
  • Gather evidence and obtain medical records for trial
  • Remain current with developments in worker's compensation law
  • Litigate cases before the workers' compensation division
  • Negotiate legal contract terms on behalf of clients
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses
  • Support existing and new clients
  • Handle large caseloads and multitask multiple priorities and deadlines

 

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Worker's Compensation Associate Attorney
  • Illinois or Indiana law license preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of State and Federal rules and regulations

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • License to practice law in Illinois or Indiana

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal drafting and research
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret complex legal concepts
  • Strong multitasking abilities and time management skills
