This position will involve direct reporting to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and will require managing a diverse caseload, interacting with clients, and actively participating in all stages of criminal defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in criminal defense, including handling complex cases at federal, state, and local levels. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are preferred to manage a diverse clientele effectively.

Job Duties:

  • Report directly to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney.
  • Manage a comprehensive caseload of criminal defense cases.
  • Maintain regular interaction with clients, advising them on their legal rights and the details of their cases.
  • Draw up legal documents related to each client's case.
  • Attend and represent clients at pretrial hearings, advising them on the best legal strategies.
  • Manage court appearances, trial proceedings, and draft motions.
  • Conduct interviews with witnesses and perform extensive legal research.
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using a deep knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Provide legal analysis to uncover any potential case benefits and strategize accordingly.
  • Accrue additional evidence to support clients’ cases or counteract prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and establish essential goals for case strategies.
  • Gather information from witnesses and important experts to support the client's legal positions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in criminal defense.
  • Proven track record of managing complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in California.
