Job Overview

A law firm seeks an International Employment Associate in Washington, DC. The role involves supporting cross-border and global employment work, with a focus on employment counseling. The associate will interact frequently with other offices in the firm's global employment practice.

Duties

  • Conduct employment diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Advise on employment policies and practices.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
  • Advise on reductions in force and other employee terminations.
  • Draft restrictive covenants and counsel on employee mobility.
  • Provide advice and counsel to clients on all aspects of employment law.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of employment counseling experience, domestic and/or international.
  • Experience with international counseling preferred.
  • Strong academic background from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Immediately transferable skills.

Education

  • JD from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice in the jurisdiction of application.

Skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues logically.
  • Timely and accurate work product delivery.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Relationship building and client needs anticipation.
