Job Overview: A law firm in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate Attorney specializing in Real Estate and Financial Services, focusing on Real Estate Finance. The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, possess substantial experience in real estate finance law within a large law firm setting, and exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Duties:

  • Handle various real estate finance matters, including loan origination for structured commercial real estate transactions.
  • Manage transactions on behalf of lenders from inception through closing and post-closing, including secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.
  • Provide counsel on asset management and workout matters related to real estate finance.
  • Conduct legal research and draft various legal documents and agreements.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience practicing real estate finance law within a large law firm.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in loan origination work for commercial real estate finance transactions.
  • Experience in mezzanine loans, preferred equity, asset management, and workout matters preferred.
  • Proven track record of running transactions independently and efficiently.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Missouri or eligible for admission.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Missouri or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of real estate finance law principles and regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
