Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Probate Attorney to join their team in Fort Mill, SC, and Charlotte, NC. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial-minded attorney who thrives on hard work and enjoys the challenge of overseeing legal work and growing a practice area.

Duties

  • Oversee client matters and files within the Estate Administration Department, ensuring compliance with state laws.
  • Provide leadership and support to paralegals and team members to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Manage non-contested guardianship cases as part of the department's services.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with referral sources and clients to generate ongoing business.
  • Optimize current processes to ensure maximum efficiency across the Carolinas.
  • Model exceptional organizational skills and ensure adherence to firm processes.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina; North Carolina licensure is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years in estate and trust administration.
  • Proven leadership and management skills to oversee paralegals across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel; familiarity with legal software such as OneDrive, Trello, Clio, or Lawmatics is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple databases and learn new software programs as needed.
  • Positive, friendly attitude with a commitment to a collaborative work environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
