A law firm in Orlando is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney. The attorney will play a crucial role in defending against all types of workers’ compensation claims, including cases involving The Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. They will review and prepare summaries of medical records, draft motions, attend court hearings, prepare clients for depositions, respond to discovery requests, and regularly attend court appearances to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.

 

Duties:

  • Review and prepare summaries of medical records to effectively advocate for clients.
  • Draft motions and attend hearings to represent clients in court.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trials, and appellate activity.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex legal issues effectively.
  • Demonstrate excellent research abilities and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Draft and respond to discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
  • Draft motions for summary judgments.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of experience specializing in defending against all types of workers’ compensation claims.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Illinois.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent research abilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
