Job Title: Supreme Court and Appellate Associate Attorney

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload of appeals, including complex, high-stakes cases in both state and federal courts.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft legal briefs and motions.
  • Prepare and present oral arguments before appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
  • Work closely with a team of seasoned attorneys, including former law clerks and experts in the appellate field, to strategize and execute case plans.
  • Focus on issue preservation and provide appellate insight during trial preparation.
  • Assist in shaping and executing high-level legal strategies for complex appeals.
  • Maintain communication with clients and ensure all aspects of cases are moving forward efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Previous judicial clerkship experience, preferably with a federal or state appellate court.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with an eagerness to take on challenging cases.
  • A track record of legal excellence, as demonstrated through academic achievements and professional experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in OR State Bar.
