Duties:

• Advocate on behalf of clients in criminal cases during trials, hearings, and negotiations

• Develop tailored defense strategies based on thorough legal research and factual analysis

• Prepare legal filings, including motions, briefs, and appellate documents

• Meet with clients to assess case details and deliver legal guidance

• Work closely with legal support staff to ensure seamless case progression

• Oversee junior team members and delegate assignments effectively

• Maintain meticulous case documentation and adhere to professional conduct standards

Requirements:

• Current license to practice law in the state of North Carolina

• At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in criminal defense and courtroom advocacy

• Strong command of criminal law procedures and rules of evidence

• Clear and persuasive oral and written communication abilities

• Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative when handling legal matters

• Prior experience managing or mentoring legal support staff is preferred

• Fluency in Spanish is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution

Certifications:

• Bar admission in North Carolina (active and in good standing)
