Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in New York is seeking a Real Estate Associate or Senior Associate to join its commercial real estate practice group. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions involving high-value properties, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing. Ideal candidates will bring strong transactional experience and a background from a large law firm environment.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Represent clients in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate

  • Negotiate and draft documentation for joint ventures, purchase and sale agreements, and leasing

  • Handle real estate finance transactions, including loan documentation and due diligence

  • Advise clients on title, survey, zoning, and land use issues

  • Coordinate with internal and external teams on closing and post-closing matters

  • Support complex commercial real estate deals from inception to completion

Requirements:

  • 3 to 8 years of relevant commercial real estate experience (JD classes 2017–2022)

  • Experience in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and joint ventures

  • Familiarity with large-scale commercial transactions and institutional clients

  • Large law firm background strongly preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (in good standing)

Skills:

  • Strong transactional drafting and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously

  • High level of professionalism and client service

  • Proficient in managing deal timelines and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
