Job Overview:

The Senior Criminal Defense Attorney will provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients facing criminal charges at federal, state, and local levels. They will manage all aspects of the defense process, from advising clients on legal rights to representing them in court proceedings. Additionally, the attorney will collaborate with colleagues, conduct legal research, and strategize case approaches to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advice on strategic options.
• Managed court appearances and trials, drafted motions, interviewed witnesses, and conducted legal research.
• Analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents and develop effective defense strategies.
• Oversee the workload of cases and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Provide thorough legal analysis to clients, identifying potential case benefits and risks.
• Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or challenge the prosecution's charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts to support case strategies.

Requirements:

• Experience handling criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate and strategize with colleagues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
