Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dynamic mid-level associate to join its media and intellectual property-focused practice in New York City. This role offers the opportunity to engage with diverse matters in publishing, new media, television, film production, and emerging technologies. The firm provides a hybrid work environment, allowing flexibility between virtual and in-office work.

Duties

  • Structure, draft, negotiate, and analyze agreements for media and entertainment companies.
  • Engage in editorial content procurement and publishing agreements.
  • Handle content production and distribution agreements.
  • Manage media brand and content licensing.
  • Oversee sponsorships and event production agreements.
  • Advise on media distribution and social media marketing.
  • Provide counsel on advertising technology relationships.
  • Support IT and tech service agreements.
  • Advise on data licensing and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of transactional experience at a law firm or in-house, with at least 1 year at a law firm.
  • Active license to practice law in New York.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.

Skills

  • Interest in media and entertainment industries.
  • Background in intellectual property, technology transactions, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
