Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join their Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking team in San Diego, CA. This role involves advocating for clients' rights and delivering exceptional legal services. Remote work is optional.

Duties

  • Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and analyzing complex documents.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and complex motions.
  • Perform legal research.
  • Make court appearances as necessary.
  • Participate in case strategy discussions and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and team members.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on cases.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • 3+ years of experience in litigation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency with E-Discovery and law programs such as Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, and OneLegal.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, team player, reliable, and capable of multitasking and managing several time-critical projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California.
